Las Lugosi - About
Las Lugosi was born in Transylvania in 1974 and emigrated to the United States in the mid 1980s with his family. After coming to the US, he spoke only three words in English and started learning the language by watching TV's M*A*S*H. His family settled in St. Paul Minnesota and he attended RAHS high school. Following high school, he went to St. John's University to pursue a degree in history but he found instead that he had a real interest in writing poetry and short stories. For over 20 years he has been writing about various topics including historical events and political developments. He started working on the Dracula trilogy in 2013. It is a three part series about the legendary vampire's life from childhood to his demise, framed in a real world context. The story is told from a historical perspective, as opposed to the traditional focus on Dracula as a misguided prince, suffering from a terrible loss.
In addition to writing about historical fiction, Lugosi is immensely interested in Nature. For several years he has been independently studying physics and how the Universe works. His main interest is the theory of time and what the concept of time entails. His book, The Universe Traveler, deals with the concept of what time means on planet Earth and how the Universe views time as a concept. He is also interested in the idea of Dark Energy - what it is, why it is and how is it possible that this unseen energy is not only pushing the Universe to expand, but at a faster and faster rate. He enjoys looking at space, pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and trying to understand why some things in the Universe work the way they do. His favorite pictures of space revolve around Neutron Stars, binary stars and nebulae.
